33. Healthy Back Exercises – Section Two

About This Lesson

Section Two focuses on the Position of Strength and how to use it to protect your back during everyday movement.

Learn how a straight back, bent knees, stomach and thigh power, and keeping the load close to your body create a stronger, more efficient position for reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

The lesson applies these principles to common activities such as bending over a sink, reaching into a car trunk, working around the home, and handling objects. You will also complete the Body Movement Inventory from the Participant Guide to identify movements in your own day where the Position of Strength can be used.

Section Two brings the Position of Strength together with the Position of Comfort and Relaxation Therapy as practical skills for protecting your back during both activity and rest.

Download the Participant Guide to follow along.
