7. Power Moves

About This Lesson

Power Moves is one of the four core competencies of In The Zone Skills Training. This lesson introduces Power Moves and the role of the Position of Strength in developing efficient, powerful movement.

Professional athletes, including Shaun White, use principles similar to these to improve performance. The same concepts can be applied to everyday activities by learning how to move with greater awareness, stability, and control.

A key skill introduced in this lesson is Power Breathing, which helps support full-body movements such as lifting, pulling, and other activities that require strength and coordination.

You will learn:

  • Exhale Into The Exertion: Understand why exhaling during exertion supports safety and strength.
  • Karate Punch Technique: Practice Power Breathing to develop core strength through stomach and thigh-focused exercises.
  • Your Back Safety Zone: Learn how to protect your back during everyday movements with the Watch Your Back program.
  • Prolonged Power Breathing: Explore how extended breathing techniques can improve endurance and effectiveness.

Through these skills, you learn how to apply Power Moves to sports, exercise, and daily life while developing greater control over your body.
